No. You only need SFTP access — which comes with every standard hosting plan. Just upload one PHP file and paste the URL into your dashboard. That's the entire setup process.
Yes. The agent works on any PHP-based hosting environment. For non-WordPress sites, Bantion performs filesystem scanning, malware detection, SSL monitoring, DNS monitoring and uptime checks. WordPress-specific features (plugin version scanning, CVE alerts) are only available for WordPress installations.
No. The agent only runs when called by Bantion's server — never during user visits. Scans are performed in small chunks every few minutes via cron, keeping CPU usage minimal and comparable to a standard cron job.
The agent updates automatically. When a new version is available, Bantion's server sends the signed update to your agent. The agent verifies the cryptographic signature and installs the update — no action needed from you. If automatic update fails, you'll see a prompt in your dashboard to re-upload manually.
Bantion is a monitoring and early-warning tool — not a guarantee against all threats. We will alert you as quickly as possible when we detect suspicious activity, but no security tool can provide 100% protection. Our goal is to catch issues early so you can act before they escalate.
